Which Policy is Right for You?

Who can get 100% refundable insurance from Baltimore Equitable Insurance?

Baltimore Equitable Insurance offers 100% refundable policies to homeowners, condominium unit owners, and renters. We also offer “landlord” policies for personally owned rental properties. We do not offer commercial policies.

Is refundable insurance only for homeowners?

No. Even though it is often called homeowners insurance, our refundable model is built for anyone protecting a home, condo, or rental property. Condo owners and renters pay a deposit instead of a premium too, and that deposit is returned in full when the policy ends, the same as a homeowners policy.

What if I own a condo instead of a house?

Baltimore Equitable Insurance offers a condominium unit owners policy. Like our homeowners policy, you pay a refundable deposit instead of an annual premium, and you get that deposit back when you no longer need coverage.

What if I rent my home?

Renters can also protect their belongings with a 100% refundable renters policy. You do not need to own your home to benefit from this model. Every dollar you spend on coverage is still yours, whether you own or rent.

I own a rental property that I lease to someone else. Can I still get refundable insurance?

Yes. Baltimore Equitable Insurance offers “landlord” policies for personally owned rental properties. These policies follow the same refundable deposit model as our homeowners, condo, and renters policies. We do not offer commercial policies.

Does the refundable deposit model work the same way for every policy type?

Yes. Whether you have a homeowners, condo, renters, or landlord policy, the model is the same. You pay a deposit instead of an annual premium, you are covered for the length of your policy, and your deposit is returned to you in full when you no longer need it. There are no unexpected fees or cancellation penalties for any policy type.

What happens to my deposit if I move?

If you sell your home, move to a new apartment, or otherwise no longer need coverage at your current address, you can cancel your policy and your deposit will be promptly returned. Many policyholders then start a new policy at their next home. Renters can do the same when they move.

Is 100% refundable insurance right for me?

If you are frustrated by paying premiums year after year for coverage you will never see again, 100% refundable insurance is worth considering, whether you own a home, own a condo, rent an apartment, or own a rental property you lease to someone else. Baltimore Equitable Insurance has offered this same refundable model since 1794, and every dollar you spend on coverage still belongs to you.

For more than 230 years, our policyholders have protected their homes without paying premiums they’ll never see again.
